My name is Lucky. I am a graduate of English with a resounding academic posture as far as inculcating knowledge in young minds is concerned. In my 8 years of teaching, i have taught at various levels ranging from when i was a student while in the University, to several private and make up practice(Tutorials), NYSC, post NYSC and into the profession full time. I have taught English in schools where massive failures was experienced. In Courage Montessori School in Ore, i helped raised the bar towards success from several failures experienced in English Language. I achieved this through identifying each student's area of weakness and strengthening it through direct teaching techniques that helped to bring the best out of each one of them. Over a period of time, i began to notice improvements; this was followed up as well with intensive questions and answers sessions. This way, the students had no hiding place to relax.
Also, teaching literature in English has also been a journey worth mentioning. Students find the subject interesting but difficult to handle. This is due to the technical as well as the objective and subjective nature of the subject. At Havard high school where i currently work, a notable technique i used was to first and foremost inculcate the habit of reading and reading with subjectivity in view as far as stories were concerned. This way, they found it exciting and developed a great measure of interest and desire for the subject.
Teaching is what i do.
